Consultation on Retailer Reliability Obligation Legislative Amendments
Publication date: Thursday, 08th November 2018.
Following the COAG Energy Council meeting on 26 October 2018, Ministers agreed that the Energy Security Board (ESB) would progress development of draft National Electricity Law amendments to give effect to a Retailer Reliability Obligation. The ESB will provide the COAG Energy Council with a final draft Bill for decision in December 2018.
The ESB has prepared an amended draft Bill for a Retailer Reliability Obligation (as well as the accompanying explanatory note) and is seeking feedback from stakeholders ahead of the final legislation being provided to the COAG Energy Council later this year.
The ESB invites comments from interested stakeholders by close of business Thursday 22 November 2018. Feedback received will inform the ESB’s advice to the COAG Energy Council at the December 2018 meeting.
